About the Real World Catalog

In 1968, the first issue of Whole Earth Catalog—an eclectic publication aiming to give readers "access to tools"—came into the world. Stewart Brand, the Whole Earth Catalog's creator, chose the name to remind readers that, despite our divisions, the planet we inhabit together is a whole.

This is the Real World Catalog. Despite our distractions, the real world is still out there, waiting to thrill us, to break our hearts. This is an eclectic publication written with that in mind. Dive in, won't you?
